Responsibilities that should be in a Caretaker Job.

Caretakers play an important role in maintaining and ensuring the upkeep of buildings, grounds, facilities and assets in settings such as schools, community centres, aged care homes, flats and hotels, keeping them secure, clean and well-maintained. Caretakers often live on site, undertaking basic handyman work and garden maintenance as well as cleaning and preparing rooms and common areas for guests and tenants.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining the grounds, including watering, weeding and mowing lawns.
• Maintaining equipment, including minor repairs to fixtures and fittings.
• Handling emergency after hours calls
• Providing monthly reports to stakeholders.
• Coordinating contractors and tradespeople
• Conducting property inspections.

Requirments

• Ability to undertake a range of caretaking and cleaning duties and maintenance and repair tasks.
• Ability to act on own initiative, dealing with any unexpected problems that arise.
• Ability to demonstrate good inter-personal skills to communicate with a range of people and students
